Laguna de Bay Challenge: 200km Ultra Marathon Relay

Background

To create the public awareness and consciousness, the Laguna de Bay Conservation Foundation is organizing a two (2) day Ultra Marathon Relay around the Lake. With the support and inspiration of the Kaya ng Pinoy – Mount Everest Team as Champions of our cause and in partnership with LLDA, the Foundation hopes to instill the values of Bayanihan, (community participation and mobilization), Love of Nature (reforestation, watershed protection and solid waste management), and teamwork (harmony and understanding) for the preservation and protection of the watershed areas and the Lake itself.

Race Schedule and Route

The two (2) day run around the Lake is scheduled May 1 and 2, 2010 (Saturday and Sunday). The first leg shall start at the Fontera Verde in Pasig City and finish at the Laguna Provinvial Capitol in Sta. Cruz, Laguna. The 2nd leg shall start at Santa Cruz, Laguna passing through Rizal Province and finish at the Fontera Verde, Pasig City. The 2 day run shall come over 200 kilometers.

Who May Join

The Ultra Marathon Relay shall be open to teams representing LGU’s, NGO’s / PVOs and corporate citizens. Each team shall have five (5) runners, with at least one (1) runner of the opposite sex, and a crew of two (2) persons and a service vehicle. The five (5) runners to start and five (5) runners to finish rule shall be used. Each runner of each team shall run ONE (1) leg each day. The organizer shall designate official pit-stop areas along the route for runner changes and for official medical and support provisions.

Entry Fee

A token entry fee of Php2,500.00 per team shall be collected after the completion and submission of technical requirements and documentation.

Proceeds of this marathon shall go to the Galalan Community Bamboo Forest Project in Pangil, Laguna and livelihood projects for the Laguna de Bay Integrated Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management Council (FARMC).

Maximum Entry

Registration of entries shall be limited to 40 teams only.

Deadline of Entry

Deadline of submission of entries is extended until April 23, 2010.

  1. Fill-up registration forms.
    You can download our Registration Form and Waiver & Release Form from this site. Registration Forms are also availabe at our Registration Centers.
  2. Pay the Entry Fee of P2,500.00.

    Please note that we do not accept payment at any of our Registration Centers.
  3. Submit forms.
