The IWRM unit will be responsible within LLDA to support a balanced and sound management and development of the Laguna de Ba’I using the decision-support systems and expertise developed in the project.  This unit will also serve as the focal point for review of the technical and/ or environmental projects by third parties and will coordinate and carry out integrated research projects to increase water system and IWRM related knowledge within LLDA.

Major transfer of knowledge activities included:

• Set-up of GIS and integrated modeling framework

• Review of routine and compliance monitoring

• Study on soil conditions/ geohazards

• Dredging and civil engineering works

• Water supply and sanitation study

• Set-up of sanitary landfill
