A
RESOLUTION REIMPOSING A BAN ON AQUACULTURE OPERATION EFFECTIVE
IMMEDIATELY AND UNTIL OTHERWISE LIFTED BY THE BOARD AND TO DECLARE
AN OPEN AND CLOSE SEASON THEREIN FOR OPEN FISHING IN TADLAK LAKE,
BRGY. TADLAK, LOS BAŅOS, LAGUNA
Whereas,
the
Laguna Lake Development Authority is authorized, among others, to
make comprehensive survey of the physical and natural resources and
potentialities of the Laguna Lake Region, its scenic and tourist
spots and, for this purpose, to issue such rules and regulations as
may be necessary to carry out its powers and functions under
Republic Act No. 4850, otherwise known as the Laguna Lake
Development Authority Act of 1966, as amended; Whereas,
this Authority
has identified Tadlak Lake, located in Barangay Tadlak, Municipality
of Los Baņos, Laguna, as one of the potential scenic and tourists
destination in the Laguna de Bay Region and is in the process of
formulating a Master Development Plan and Feasibility Studies of
Priority Banner Eco-Tourism Sites and Support Structures for the
Proposed Tadlak Lake Nature Park for Eco-Tourism Destination; Whereas,
in order to
ensure the continuity of planning efforts and the profiling of
resource characterization and assessment for Tadlak Lake, it is
imperative that a ban on aquaculture operation be re-imposed and the
opening and closing season for open fishing in Tadlak lake be
declared by this Authority; WHEREFORE,
for and in
consideration of the foregoing, BE IT RESOLVED, as it is
hereby RESOLVED, by this Board in its regular meeting duly
attended, to ban aquaculture operation in Tadlak Lake effective
immediately and until otherwise lifted by this Board and to declare
an open and close season therein for open fishing. Resolved,
Further, to
authorize the General Manager, this Authority, to promulgate such
rules and regulations as may be necessary for the effective
implementation of this Resolution. Resolved, lastly, that this Resolution and any such rules and regulations promulgated therefore shall become effective fifteen (15) days from the date of its publication in a newspaper of general circulation.
