The LLDA-GeoDesk

The central overview of metadata regarding available spatial data (the physical data itself needs to be managed within the division);

The implementation of one coordinate and projection system to be used by all divisions;

The centralization of procuring software and spatial data from third parties;

The adaptation of new technologies and development in the handling of spatial data and the identification of LLDA research needs;

The establishment of a one-stop desk for people who are interested in obtaining data from the LLDA;

Training support to other division in the analysis and presentation of spatial data with GIS software.

This is in order to:

Assure the quality and positional accuracy of data and use one uniform, standardized data structure;

Make GIS work most efficient (avoiding duplication of data and work)

Enhance the credibility of LLDA through the set-up of an advanced GIS database;

Promote the use of GIS and its analyzing capabilities within LLDA;

Be able to give best advice on how and with what kind of spatial data, problems can be analyzed;

Identify training needs.
