Signing of Expression of Cooperation between LLDA and PRA

On May 24, LLDA and the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) formalized their commitment to work hand-in-hand in increasing the nation's resources through responsible and ethical land reclamation.

LLDA, represented by GM Joey Medina and AGM Gener Dungo, along with PRA Chairman Atty. Alberto Agra and AGM/ CEO Atty. Janilo Rubiato, promised to develop policies and key initiatives that would be geared towards accelerating the development of reclamation areas within Laguna Lake.

Together, LLDA and PRA will explore opportunities for joint planning, implementation, operation and management of development projects within Laguna Lake, and agree to jointly undertake the urgent preparation of the plan and strategies for potential development projects.

In a previous speech, Atty. Rubiato emphasized that not all forms of reclamation are detrimental to the environment. Rather, "it can be used as a tool to enhance ecosystems and protect communities from storm surges and coastal flooding."

"We look forward to working with the PRA. Together, we hope to achieve our shared goals of maximizing the utilization of reclaimed lands, and creating opportunities that will encourage the more balanced growth of the Laguna Lake area and the surrounding provinces, cities, and towns,” shares GM Medina
