LLDA General Manager Jaime Medina leads the signing of a tripartite Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Solar Philippines South Luzon Corporation and the Municipality of Cardona in a signing ceremony held in held in the Office of Mayor Bernardo San Juan in Cardona Rizal on February 21, 2018.

The MOA will formalize the cooperative effort of the three parties to develop and provide environmental friendly sources of energy for the Laguna Lake region.The said MOA allows the Solar Philippines South Luzon Corporation, represented here by its President, Leandro Antonio L. Leviste, to conduct a pilot test project of floating solar panels off the waters of Laguna de Bai, specifically in Barangay Dalig in the Municipality of Cardona. Mayor Bernardo P. San Juan of Cardona, Rizal is the third party in the agreement.

The LLDA is mandated under Republic act No 4850 to carry out the social and economic development of the Laguna Lake and its surrounding towns, cities and municipalities with due regard to the preservation of the environment and prevention of undue ecological disturbances. In this regard, LLDA will allow Solar Philippines with an area not exceeding 1000 sq.m. for a period of one year from the start of the operation while the Cardona LGU will provide the necessary permits and security assistance to facilitate the conduct of the pilot test project.
