External Laboratory Services

In order to serve its clientele more effectively, the Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA) thru its Environmental Quality Management Division (EQMD) will extend external laboratory services on physico-chemical, microbiological and biological analysis for drinking water, wastewater, and surface water based on the following guidelines:

  1. Schedule for the submission of samples shall be pre-arranged at least one (1) week before delivery of sample. Sample of walk-in clients shall not be accepted.

  2. Clients are responsible for the collection and preservation of samples.

  3. Sample must be in adequate amount, stored in properly labeled container and properly preserved, otherwise, it shall be rejected.

  4. Full payment shall be made to the cashier upon submission of sample and copy of the official receipt shall be given to the Laboratory.

  5. The LLDA Laboratory shall analyze the samples as submitted by the company and does not guarantee that the sample submitted is representative of the source or the manner of sampling as declared by the sender.

  6. The Results of Laboratory Analysis (ROLA) shall be available based on the following schedule after receipt of samples:

1.  Physico Chemical Analysis 

:

3 weeks

2.  Heavy Metals 

:

1 month

3.  Microbiological Analysis

:

1 week (if negative)/ 2 weeks (if positive)

4.  Biological Analysis

:

3 weeks

In case of delay due to unavoidable circumstances, the Laboratory shall inform the proponent of the problem immediately.

  1. The ROLA shall be properly signed before issuance to the client. Alterations in the ROLA must be countersigned by the Head of the Laboratory.

  2. In the case of industrial wastewater taken within -the area of jurisdiction of the LLDA, the results may be used only for Self Monitoring Reports (SMR) but not for regulatory purposes. In no case shall the ROLA of samples submitted by the company be used against the results of samples collected by the Pollution Control Division (PGD) in the course of its regular monitoring activities.

This memorandum shall take effect immediately and maybe revised as the conditions warrant.
