ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMERS and the CURRENT

STATE OF LAGUNA DE BAY REGION

 

The Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA) assesses performance of a total of 780 registered industrial, commercial and other firms, including 104 fastfood, restaurants, and similar establishments periodically. 

Ratings for the actual compliance monitoring for the Third Cycle (July 2007-June 2008) of its Public Disclosure (PDP) were based on the assessment criteria, guidelines and procedures approved by the multi-sectoral Program Monitoring Group (PMG).  The PMG is composed of representatives of LGUs, LLDA, EMB-DENR, Private Sector, represented by Jollibee Food Corporation; Fortune Tobacco, Manila Water Co., Inc., Foremost Farms, and an NGO, represented by Sagip Pasig Movement.

Categorized according to compliance, the ratees are:

The 2007 environmental performance of other commercial establishments will be released along with the environmental performance of LGUs during the next cycle of disclosure scheduled in December 2008 pending resolution of technical and validation issues. 

We assure the public that LLDA is continuously taking concrete and bold steps to ensure that these commercial establishments will move progressively along the same direction toward a year-long performance-based compliance under collaborative arrangements with Industrial Technology Development Institute-DOST, UP Diliman – College of Engineering, UP Diliman – National Institute of Geological Sciences, Sagip Pasig Movement and NCA Laboratory. ********
