Pollution Control Division

 

 

 

  • Regulates all pollution sources to conserve the lake for present and future beneficial use;

  • Undertakes monitoring and surveillance of pollution sources;

  • Undertakes continuing researches on the lake and its tributaries and the ecology of the region as a whole;

  • Undertakes continuous training and research on watershed management, waste management and pollution control technologies;

  • Provides technical assistance in assessing environmental impact programs/projects/activities;

  • Initializes/implements non-regulatory measures and extension services to enhance the environment.

Permitting Section

 

  • Receives and pre-evaluates submitted applications and permit requirements, Self Monitoring Reports (SMRs) and Pollution Control Officer (PCO) Accreditation applications;

  • Assesses annual permit and environmental user fees, arrears, fines and other related fees;

  • Process all permit/clearance applications as endorsed and favourably recommended.

Monitoring and Enforcement Section

 

  • onducts inspection of industrial/commercial establishments and other developmental activities to monitor compliance to prescribed environmental standards and other regulations relating to water and air quality;

  • Evaluates inspection/monitoring reports and results of laboratory analyses for the wastewater sample collected for processing of permit application and/or endorsement to Legal Division for issuance of Legal Orders;

  • Prepares monitoring program of air pollution sources within the Laguna de Bay basin and conducts actual monitoring/sampling of industrial emission sources and to monitor compliance to prescribed environmental standards and other regulations and make appropriate recommendations for the exercise of the Authority's regulatory functions;

  • Conducts inspection on industrial/commercial establishments and developmental activities (i.e., Solid Waste, Toxic and Hazardous Wastes, Hospital Wastes, etc.) to monitor compliance with the prescribed environmental standards and other regulations.
