• Serves as the clearing house for all proposed and on-going research and research related project in the Laguna De Bay region by other government agencies, research and academic institutions;

• Formulates criteria and guidelines for determining priorities for proposed research projects;

• Integrates the research agenda/program for the Authority in the context of the set goals and objectives for the sustainability of the LDB Region under the updated Master Plan and other similar strategic plans in collaboration with research related divisions/units of the LLDA;

• Reviews research project of the LLDA in accordance with the approved priority areas in close coordination with various research-related units of the Authority;

• Undertakes integration of data generated by other research-related units of LLDA for policy research and formulation;

• Provides strategic/macro direction and/or participates in the implementation of studies/research components embodied in corporate-funded and locally/foreign assisted projects of the Authority;

• Identifies research gaps and prepares proposals as necessary for policy formulation; and

• Coordinates with the Office of Foreign and Locally Assisted Projects for funding of research proposals by external sources and with the PPDD for corporate funding.

REDD also takes the lead in addressing all concerns related to the Living Lakes Partnership of the Global Nature Fund and the World Lake Watch 25 Project of the International Lake Environment Committee Foundation.
