The Laguna
Lake Development Authority was established in 1966 as a
quasi-government agency that leads, promotes, and
accelerates sustainable development in the Laguna de Bay
Region. Regulatory and law-enforcement functions are carried
out with provisions on environmental management,
particularly on water quality monitoring, conservation of

RIVER REHABILITATION PROGRAM |
|
|
The
River Rehabilitation Program was launched in 1996 and placed
under the Community Development Division for implementation. It
utilizes an integrated approach to watershed management. It
takes into account both water quality and quantity in the
continuum of an inter-related eco-system --- from the rivers’
headwaters to the downstream areas of thriving urbanization all
the way to the lake basin.
Twenty-four (24) sub-basins comprise the Laguna de Bay
Sub-basin. These are used as basic units for planning and
implementation of the following river rehabilitation strategies
such as strengthening of River Councils and partnership with the
Federation of Riverbasin Council (FRBC). |
