The
Province of Rizal is a land of vast resources, abundant water supply,
untapped mineral resources, with access to markets and trade advantages,
numerous tourism potentials, favorable peace and order climate, various
investable and bankable industries, and skilled labor force.
Rizal
has an estimated population of 1.7 million people as of Year 2000, with an
annual growth rate of 5.8 percent. The predominant language is Filipino
while the English language is used as the medium of communication in
business and education. The literacy rate of household population ten
years old and over is a high 98.5 percent. The province is composed of
thirteen municipalities and one component city divided into three
political districts and further subdivided into 187 barangays. Its total
land area is about 130,383 hectares
All
13 municipalities and its lone city form part of the Laguna de Bay Region.
